Drive times to Sisters, Smith Rock, and Sunriver
Downtown Bend and the Old Mill are back toward town — about 15–20 minutes. Redmond Airport (RDM) is about 30 minutes, north on 97. Sisters is the closest of the three towns, next up Highway 20 — about 15–25 minutes. Smith Rock is north on 97, about 30–40 minutes. Sunriver Village and SHARC are about 30–40 minutes south of Bend — not the home base. Hoodoo is the closest ski hill on this same highway; Mt. Bachelor is about 30–40 minutes if you want the bigger mountain.

Winter access
The cabin itself is in west Bend, not on the pass. If you drive to Hoodoo or Santiam Pass, ODOT can require traction tires or chains. Check TripCheck the morning you go. Oregon Sno-Park permits are required at designated winter lots in season.
