The Chief's Cabin

The Chief's Cabin · Highway 20 corridor

4-bedroom cabin between Bend and Hoodoo

You stay on the same road as the pass. After night skiing, soak in the hot tub. The Autobahn tubing park is the easy win for the kids-room crowd. This is a family cabin on the Hwy 20 corridor — not a lodge at the hill, and not resort-village markup.

Snow sports — illustrative of a Hoodoo ski or tubing day, not a photo of the hill from the cabin.

Closest ski hill: Hoodoo on Highway 20

Hoodoo Ski Area sits on US-20 at Santiam Pass. The Chief's Cabin is west of Bend on that same highway, toward Sisters — so Hoodoo is the honest, closer, usually less-crowded mountain from this house. Downtown Bend is back toward town. Sisters is the next town up 20.

Most maps spell it Hoodoo. You will also see Hoo Doo or HooDoo — same hill, same pass.

Mt. Bachelor is about 30–40 minutes if you want the bigger mountain. Sunriver Village and SHARC are about 30–40 minutes south of Bend and are not the home base for this stay.

From the cabin

The cabin is at 65705 Hwy 20, Bend, OR 97703, on Highway 20 toward Hoodoo and Sisters. Becca sends the door code after she confirms.

Built for a Hoodoo weekend

Hoodoo’s mix — family terrain, Friday–Saturday night skiing when they run it, Autobahn tubing, and Nordic trails — matches this house: swing set, game room, outdoor hot tub, and room for 10. Come off the hill, hang wet gear, and stay in.

  • Sleeps 10 including children — four bedrooms, eight beds, two baths
  • Outdoor hot tub after night skiing
  • Game room: ping pong, foosball, shuffleboard, billiards, darts
  • Full-size swing set and fire pit that seats 10
  • Kids room with a bunk and a full bed

Read the Hoodoo weekend guide for night skiing, tubing, chains, Sno-Park permits, and a sample Friday-to-Sunday plan.

Cabin near Hoodoo — not a Hoodoo lodge

Searchers look for cabin near Hoodoo, Hoodoo ski area lodging, hotels near Hoodoo Oregon, Hoodoo tubing park cabin, night skiing Hoodoo where to stay, family cabin near Sisters and Hoodoo, and Santiam Pass cabin rental. This house answers those searches as a cabin on the Hwy 20 corridor. It is not ski-in, ski-out, and we do not write “Hoodoo cabin” as if you were at the lodge.
